SUMMARY:Webinar: 2025 Careers in Energy & Natural Resources Report
DESCRIPTION:The Energy and Natural Resources (ENR) sector is vital to Minnesota’s economy\, employing over 187\,000 people in high-skill\, high-wage careers. This webinar will offer key insights for educators\, employers\, and future professionals as they prepare for the workforce of tomorrow. \n\n\n\nJoin Erin Olson of RealTime Talent\, for a comprehensive review of her newly published 2025 Careers in Energy and Natural Resources Report\, commissioned by the Minnesota State Energy Center of Excellence. This webinar\, offered via Zoom\, will detail the report’s key findings\, including an overview of the recently updated National Career Clusters Framework. \n\n\n\nThe report’s key findings\, to be further discussed in the webinar\, include: \n\n\n\n\nThe Current Labor Market: Minnesota is home to 175\,558 core ENR jobs\, which feature a low 1.7% unemployment rate and an average annual wage of $103\,500. \n\n\n\nFuture Demand: Forecasts show modest growth\, but the report estimates over 73\,000 job openings in the next five years due to retirements and career changes. \n\n\n\nHigh-Opportunity Sub-Clusters: The Energy & Natural Resources cluster includes six sub-clusters: Clean & Alternative Energy\, Conservation & Land Management\, Ecological Research & Development\, Environmental Protection\, Resource Extraction\, and Utilities. \n\n\n\nTalent and Education Alignment: The current talent pipeline does not meet future needs\, though a wide variety of Minnesota-based postsecondary programs align with industry needs. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe presentation will be followed by a live Q&A session with the author. To attend\, send an email to energycenter@minnstate.edu.
