Who we are

The Minnesota State Energy Center of Excellence, hosted by Minnesota West Community & Technical College (MWCTC), a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system, is firmly committed to maintaining appropriate data privacy; our data gathering and dissemination practices are governed by state and federal laws, including the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 13. The following discloses our data practices for the MWCTC websites.

For security purposes and to ensure that the website remains available to all users, we use software to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage.

Personal Information provided by you

The information you provide may be classified as private by law. You are not legally required to provide this information, but if you do not supply this information on a contact, help or registration form, we will be unable to contact you. Contact information missing from a registration form may mean that your registration will be incomplete and may not be able to be processed. The information you provide will be available to Minnesota State Energy Center of Excellence and Minnesota State Colleges and Universities staff to allow them to perform their work-related duties.

The Minnesota State Energy Center of Excellence website will collect only personal information which you knowingly and voluntarily provide by, for example, sending emails, completing forms, registering for classes or other events, responding to surveys. The information will be used only for the purposes you authorized. Personally identifiable information will not be sold, exchanged, or otherwise distributed without your consent, except to the extent required by law.

Server Logs

MWCTC and the Minnesota State Energy Center of Excellence automatically gathers and stores information from online visitors to help manage the website and improve service. This information includes pages, files, documents and links visited, date and time of access, browser type and operating system used, domain name and IP address for access. Information is used in aggregate only. No attempt is made to identify individual visitors from this information.
